Efficient and Dynamic

In the 21st century you can’t make token gestures, especially when it comes to automotive efficiency.

That’s why BMW has gone all-out to spread its engineering innovation across its entire range, honing its aerodynamics packages to ensure its cars slip smoothly through the air.

Less weight means more of that famous BMW Power gets turned into spirited driving excitement - rather than overcoming inertia - putting more smiles on more faces.

BMW has Europe’s most efficient premium fleet and now Australian drivers have access to them.

All Australian BMW models are equipped with EfficientDynamics technologies, including 26 new models, now available through the BMW Dealer Network.

The latest round of efficiency upgrades has one purpose: to ensure that driving a BMW is still as much, if not more, fun than before. We’re just using less fuel and thinking smarter while we do it.

So, no doubt you’re thinking: “What is BMW EfficientDynamics and how do I benefit?”

It’s quite simple. Well, truthfully, it’s quite complex, but the bottom line is that by charging the battery via the alternator only when the engine is on overrun, or not under power, fuel is saved and more of the engine’s performance goes direct to the driven wheels.

It means that when cruising along the highway, air flaps behind the grille can close to increase aero efficiency and reduce fuel consumption but when idling in a freeway traffic jam the flaps open to increase airflow to the cooling system.

It means in stop-start traffic, manual models can stop the engine running while you wait for the lights to change, saving fuel and reducing exhaust emissions.

It means best in class performance in engine output, acceleration, fuel consumption, and exhaust emissions.

It means efficiency at both high and low speed, across all vehicles lines from the 1 Series to the 7 Series.

More than one million BMW customers in Europe have embraced BMW EfficientDynamics and Australia is the first market outside Europe to access this technology.

BMW EfficientDynamics comes down to five powerful words: “Less emissions: More driving pleasure.”

And as we say: If it isn’t efficient and it isn’t dynamic, it’s not the Ultimate Driving Machine.
